Our Swimming Courses
Classes are divided into age and ability
- Baby classes - 0-12 months
- Tot classes - 1-2 years
- Toddler classes - 2-3 years
- Bubbles classes 3 years + or competent younger swimmers
Baby and tot classes have maximum of 8 in a class and bubbles and above 4 in a class.
Courses usually least for 6 weeks and progress gradually until your child can swim!
BABY CLASSES
The aim of these classes is to enable your baby to swim happily underwater, with an adults help, and enjoy the water. These lesson are a mixture of fun with nursery rhymes and games, and exercises which are built on each week.
TOT AND TODDLER CLASSES
Here the skills learnt in the baby classes are expanded so the children learn how to swim unaided, enter and exit the pool safely, floating, and underwater breath holding. As the children progress stroke technique and float work are introduced.
BUBBLES CLASSES
These classes prepare children to progress on to traditional swim school.
Stroke technique for front and back crawl is taught, treading water, push and glide exercises and float work. Normally these children swim without adults in the pool, just an instructor.
All classes are very social for both parents and children. The babies and children have fun whilst improving their co-ordination and muscles. Young babies sleep particularly well after classes as they are exercising normally unused muscles.

Our Health & Safety Policy
All classes are held in a pool where the temperature and water clarity are regularly checked to ensure they conform to the correct standards.
When attending classes please ensure at least 1 hour has passed since feeding a baby or child before entering the pool.
Just like you, a child will not enjoy swimming, if unwell, so please don't allow then to enter the water until any infection or illness has completely gone. We are always here to answer any questions on health issues so please ring us anytime.
There is no need to wait until your baby is immunised against Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio and Whooping Cough, to start swimming classes, as they are not caught from chlorinated water. However if you wish, you can also start classes after your child has completed their immunisation courses, as some existing mothers have done.
All babies/children attending the classes must have an adult with then in the pool, ie a 1:1 ratio.
